My Bio: 

Yasmin Ansari is a Pakistani national born in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia. Her educational profile includes a B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and M.Sc degree in computer engineering from the prestigious University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. The focus of her graduate dissertation was the application of pattern recognition techniques in the healthcare sector in Pakistan to improve ward management. In this time, she also served her alma mater as a teaching assistant starting January 2010 for three semesters.

Pursuing her passion in academia, she then joined the College of Computer Engineering and Sciences in Prince Muhammad bin Fahd University, Saudi Arabia in October 2011 as a lecturer until June 2014. She also served as the IEEE Student Chapter chairman from Fall 2012.

Her strong desire to integrate her knowledge and experience with emerging technologies in an active research group lead her to apply to soft robotics lab at The Biorobotics Institute of Scuola Superiore Sant Anna, Italy, where she is currently working as a PhD research scholar in the SMART-E project headed by the Marie Cure FP7 Framework. Her current research interests include soft robotics, robot control and cognition, pattern recognition and machine learning.

She is currently a member of the Pakistan Engineering Council. Her hobbies include reading, hiking, and traveling
