My Bio: 

Alexandre Bousaid is one of the thirteen ESR of the SMART-E network, funded by the EU commission’s FP7 Marie Curie Programme. A dual nationality citizen (Lebanese and Venezuelan), he has lived and experienced both cultures.  He was born in Beirut (Lebanon) “Pays des Cèdres” at the center of the Middle-East where he grew up in a nature-lover family. However, the clouds of war pushed him to travel to his other home Venezuela, one of the richest regions in its natural resources.  He decided then to delve into the world of agriculture and landscaping helping in the old family business apart of his studies.

Alexandre Bousaid received his university education in Lebanon, at the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik. He graduated with Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer and Communication Engineering and a major concentration in Robotics and Industrial Engineering. His undergraduate years come to sharp focus on low current and embedded systems. In 2012 he wrote a thesis on Active and Adaptive Translational System for Automotive.  In this thesis he demonstrated with the use of a mathematical model and a prototype that he designed and implemented, how to create a virtual spring with variable stiffness using a combination of spring and dampers in a natural translational system.

After graduation, he worked in engineering companies in the center of Beirut, handling small low current projects and gaining work expertise for three years. He then joined, at the beginning of 2015 the SMART-E network as ESR. Alexandre Bousaid is currently working at the SMART-E consortium industrial partner AGCO/Fendt GmbH in Marktoberdorf, Germany - the global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery.

What I do in Smart-E: 

Alexandre Bousaid’s engagement into SMART-E evolves the gain of skills, network and experiences to become leaders in advanced roboticist for flexible manufacturing, specifically in farming industries.His main focus is on a navigation system for mobile agricultural robots. 

Alexandre Bousaid is currently working at Fendt on developing a dynamic control architecture that enables high precision positioning and navigation of mobile robots. The navigation approach includes the coordination and cooperation of multiple interacting robots for agriculture purposes.
